On Tuesday, the UVA softball team played game one of the Orange & Blue series. It was the long-awaited debut of one of their recent signees. Macie, who “signed” with the team this summer as part of Team IMPACT, took some strong cuts in the cage. Team IMPACT is a non-profit that connects children with serious or chronic illnesses with college teams. Macie was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2018, but is now in remission according to this story from her signing day, as covered by CBS19 Sports.
