Congratulations

blog

Coming off of our holiday break, we have a couple of belated congratulations to offer up, both of which go to people within the coaching ranks. First, congratulations to former @UVAMensLacrosse All-American Ben Rubeor  who has been named the head coach of the Atlas Lacrosse Club in the new Premier Lacrosse League. Before his coaching career began, Rubeor had a standout career as a player at both the collegiate and professional level. While playing at the UVA, Rubeor was named All-ACC three times (2006-2008), selected to the All-ACC Tournament Team three times (2006-2008), and picked as a finalist for the prestigious Tewaaraton Trophy twice (2007,2008). He also was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American (2007-2008). Rubeor ranks fifth all-time on Virginia’s career goals list (136) and sixth all-time on the school’s career points list (212). Following his college career, Rubeor played professional lacrosse for seven years before retiring from competition in 2015.

We would also like to congratulate @UVAMensHoops Director of Player Personnel Johnny Carpenter  who was named to the Cannon Network “30 Coaches Under 30” list. Carpenter, who has worked with both the men’s and women’s teams at UVA as well as spending a season as an assistant video coordinator with the Dallas Mavericks, is a double Hoo, graduating with a bachelor’s in foreign affairs in 2013 and earned his master’s in higher education administration in 2014.
