Last week, 1,100 students from more than 130 universities attended the NRF (National Retail Federation) Foundation Student Program in New York City. The four-day event featured 44 speakers across the main stage and in breakout sessions. The who’s who of presenters at the event included Macy’s Chairman and CEO Jeff Gennette, Emily Chang (senior vice president of marketing at Starbucks) and Kelly McGinnia (chief communications officer of Levi Strauss & Co.). The Hoos Hoo of attendees included @uvawomenshoops’ Felicia Aiyeotan, @uvafieldhockey’s Makayla Gallen and @uvawomenslax’s Taylor Regan, among others. “It was a really great experience to learn and engage, but also to ask experts who’ve been in the industry for a long time questions and have them share their knowledge with us,” Aiyeotan said of the event.
