Senior Salute

blog

Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch has written a wonderful series of articles about seniors on spring sport teams. These articles are feature stories about some of the student-athletes that have been affected by the loss of their final year, but really tell a well-rounded story about their lives as student-athletes. The first up was a great piece on @UVAMensLax’s Ryan Lamb and his scoring a goal in his impromptu Senior Day game.

Barber also had this piece on @UVABaseball’s Paul Kosanovich’s interesting path to being a member of the squad, which began on a Division II football field in Las Vegas (Las Vegas, New Mexico, that is). Read more about this interesting story here.

Another pair of alumna, @UVAWomensSoccer’s Zoe Morse and @UVAWomensTennis’ Julia Elbaba, took part in a webinar on Friday called When I Grow Up, speaking on their childhood dreams of becoming  professional athletes. Morse currently plays for the Chicago Red Stars and Elbaba is a professional tennis player. Give it a watch here.
