Whitelaw Reid of UVA Today shares this story about two Cavaliers, Marshall and Courtney (Muller) Leonard, and their frontline fight of COVID-19. Great article talking, so we’re calling this one a MUST READ!!!!
2020 is a unique moment in time at UVA: the 100th anniversary of a 1920 Board of Visitors resolution allowing some women to enroll in select graduate and professional programs and the 50th anniversary of full coeducation in 1970. Retold, a project of UVA’s alumni association, will mark this pivotal moment and honor the alumnae community by recognizing women’s contributions to the University community and the diversity of the alumnae experience. One of the ways they are doing this is through profiles of a variety of female alumnae telling their stories including Debbie Ryan (her story is entitled “Building a Legacy of Women in Athletics“), the current director of women’s basketball operations and double Hoo Anna Cho (“Seeking Courage and Breaking Barriers“) and Jocelyn Willoughby (“Finding Home as Both a Student and an Athlete“). Check out the entire project here.
