In what should have been the weekend of Final Exercises, there were many great tributes to the Class of 2020, first and foremost this video of a letter from UVA’s director of athletics Carla Williams. There was also a virtual celebration and degree conferral, that included performances from Dave Matthews and Yo-You Ma. You can click here to find out more about the University’s program and celebrations of the Class of 2020.
Congratulations to the class of 2020! We are so proud of all of our graduates, especially our outstanding interns. Here’s a sneak peak – stay tuned tomorrow as we highlight them throughout the day! #GoHoos pic.twitter.com/Gd7KEfff6e

The Virginia Athletics Foundation also ran a series of videos in which their interns had some messages to share with their family and friends. The video embedded above is the teaser for all of their interns, but their feed also had individual messages from Felicia Aiyeotan, Grant Donahue, Kate Hastings, Grant Kersey, Sam Krivas, Lizzy Sieracki and Rob Snyder. Last week was #NationalPoliceWeek. Both @UVABaseball head coach Brian O’Connor and @UVAMensHoops head coach Tony Bennett recorded messages of support to celebrate the week.
To all the first responders and essential workers out there…THANK YOU! You are truly appreciated for all your sacrifices. I want to highlight my best friend’s mom @LukeMcLain11! If tagged, post yours! #HoosYourHero pic.twitter.com/KmRdpJ1TsH

The #HoosYourHero campaign really took off this weekend, with numerous Cavaliers changing the name on their jersey to show support for unsung heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will have many more of these tomorrow, but for now, here’s @UVAFootball’s Zane Zandier with his tribute.

Congratulations to former @UVAWomensHoops player Tiffany Sardin who has been named the head coach at Chicago State. This is her first head coaching job. Sardin was a four-year letterwinner at Virginia, playing from 2003-06.
