Streaking the Lawn continued its Throwback Thursday catch-ups with UVA alums, this time with Brian Leung chatting with Olympic gold medalist Leah Smith about the impact that COVID-19 has had on her swimming career and preparations for Tokyo.

 

#Challenge Cup

Professional sports returns to the major networks this weekend when the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) begins competition in the Challenge Cup in Utah. Eight of the league’s teams will compete in the tournament with UVA women’s soccer alums scattered across the rosters. Included in those competing in the tournament are Veronica Latsko (Houston Dash), Kristen McNabb (OL Reign), Brittany Ratcliffe (Utah Royals), Meghan McCool (Washington Spirit) and Morgan Brian, Danielle Colaprcio and Makenzy Doniak (Chicago Red Stars). The tournament opens with Becky Sauerbrunn and the Portland Thorns taking on defending league champion North Carolina at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS. The rest of the tournament will be streamed on CBS All Access. UVA alum Lori Lindsey will be on the broadcast team for all matches streamed on CBS All Access.
