Former @UVABaseball standout and current Washington National Ryan Zimmerman issued a statement yesterday that he would be sitting out the 2020 season. Zimmerman had hinted about this decision earlier this week in his blog he has been writing with the Associated Press during the COVID-19 pandemic, but his agent made it official yesterday.

In other baseball player news, but not baseball-itself news, former @UVABaseball infielder in the Cleveland Indians organization Ernie Clement recently competed in the Rochester District Golf Championships last week. He’s a 3 handicap and nearly dropped an ace in footage for the interview. Unfortunately Clement finished one stroke off the cut line.
For most sports, COVID-19 has dramatically altered practice routines and training regimens. For golf, in many ways it's still business as usual.
