Hoos with Trophies
Junior forward Alexa Spaanstra has been named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week for May 4th after delivering a pair of braces in the first two games of the NCAA Tournament. The Cavalier standout helped push Virginia into the Sweet 16 for the 15th time in the last 16 years with the performance as she scored four of the Cavaliers’ five goals in the first two games. Senior goalkeeper Laurel Ivory was named as an honorable mention selection after posting a career-high 11 saves on 19 shots faced in the shutout of No. 12 seed BYU.
