#HoosCare/ #Duckapalooza

@UVAWomensSoccer alumna Morgan Brian is raising money for Special Olympics by helping to promote what can only be an amazing event: the Chicago Ducky Derby or #Duckapalooza if you prefer. CLICK HERE to find out more details or to duck up for race day. Good news! There is a virtual version on Aug. 5 so you can participate in that if you won’t be in Chicago that weekend.

Dr. Hoo

Great piece from Damon Dillman on @UVAFootball’s Jackson Matteo. Matteo has been enrolled at UVa since the summer of 2012, when he first joined the football program as a recruited walk-on offensive lineman. He first graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in the spring of 2016 and that fall played his fifth and final season for the Cavaliers. He ended his career with a streak of 24-straight starts at center that dated back to the start of the 2015 season. The following spring, Matteo finished work on a master’s degree in higher education with a focus on athletic administration. He also began a stint as a graduate assistant on Bronco Mendenhall’s coaching staff, where he remained in that role for three seasons. His final game on the sideline was the 2019 matchup against Florida in the Orange Bowl. While he was coaching, Matteo was also laying the foundation for the doctoral dissertation he will defend this fall. Read the rest of his story here.

Draft Night

Some great reaction video from a watch party for @UVAMensHoops Tre Murphy III.
