On Saturday, Cavaliers from several teams were up early and out at Meriwether Lewis Elementary School to take part in the Gene Arnold Memorial Special Olympics 10k Run and 2-mile walk. Some of the teams participated in the race while others mentored Special Olympians who were competing in the walk. This is an annual event that our student-athletes look forward to every year, and missed greatly last year. For more details or to make a donation that benefits Local Area 3 Special Olympics, click here. The virtual aspect of the race continues through today, so it isn’t too late to participate.

We know that the true essence of the day is the Special Olympians, but it is also a race so SHOUT OUT to @UVAWomensLax’s Courtlynne Caskin who finished second among the women in the 10K and finished eighth overall among all competitors.
