Happy HOO-lidays

The festive season at the University begins with the Lighting of the Lawn, but the second chapter is almost as eagerly anticipated: the holiday video. Helping paint Beta Bridge’s Holiday message with members of the community and President Jim Ryan were student-athletes from the men’s soccer team (Carlos Godoy, Holden Brown, Matthew Hunter & Malcolm Brickhouse) and women’s lacrosse team (Nina Garfinkel, Jaime Biskup and Courtlynne Caskin). Grab some hot cocoa, light the fireplace and press play on the above video to dive head first into the holiday season.

Hoos on the Move

Congratulations to @UVAWomensSoccer alumna Amanda Cromwell who has been named the head coach of the Orlando Pride. Cromwell joins the Pride following a highly-respected 25-year head coaching tenure at the collegiate ranks. Over this time, the Annandale, Va. native compiled a 356-126-44 coaching record (.680 winning percentage). Cromwell began her coaching career as an assistant at her alma mater, the University of Virginia, in 1992 before taking her first head coaching position at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 1996.
