Better Late Than Never
New Zealand’s national team has begun competing at Oceania’s World Cup qualifying tournament in Qatar. They had to start play in the eight-team tournament without three of their key players who were still in Europe and could not arrive by the March 18 start date. @UVAMensSoccer alum Joe Bell, who plays in Denmark, was one of the late arrivals, but he is now getting up to speed and should play in later matches as the tournament runs through March 30th. Bell was a member of the All Whites’ Olympic squad last year. New Zealand made the 2010 and 2014 World Cups but failed to qualify in 2018.
