SEGOVIA, Spain – Virginia men’s tennis rising junior Iñaki Montes (Pamplona, Spain) won the doubles titles at the Open Castilla y Leon, an ATP Challenger-level hard court tournament, on Saturday (July 30) in Segovia, Spain.

This was the first Challenger-level title for Montes. It is his third championship this summer after winning the singles and doubles titles at the ITF World Tennis Tour 25K tournament in Mungia, Spain in June.

Montes and his partner, fellow Spaniard Nicolas Alvarez Varona, defeated Florida State alum Benjamin Lock and his brother, Courtney, 7-6 (3), 6-3 in the final.

Montes received a wildcard into singles qualifying. He won his opener 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 against Omar Jasika before retiring midway through the qualifying final againstAlibek Kachmov.
