Aiello Set For Beat The Streets LA International Event Sunday
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia wrestling alum Jay Aiello, a four-time NCAA qualifier and 2020 All-American, is set to compete in the Beat The Streets LA’s International Event on Sunday (Dec. 18). Aiello will compete for the U.S. against Ukraine. The event will be held at the Barth Athletics Complex in San Marino, Calif., and will begin at 5 p.m. ET.
Aiello will be one of four men’s freestyle matches on the day as he will take on Illa Archaia in the 97kg weight class. The event will be streamed by Stalemates on the organization’s YouTube channel.
His match is one of 10 bouts between U.S. athletes from the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club and world power Ukraine, six in women’s freestyle and four in men’s freestyle. There will also be four youth wrestling matches as part of the card.
The event will help raise funds for the non-profit Beat the Streets LA, to allow them to provide their programming free of charge to community youth.
