TIFFANY ON PETTY
2024 –
“Eli is a problem that needs to be identified and addressed by the offense. Who keeps knocking down shots and intercepting passes intended for open teammates? Eli has proven to be exceptional with his knack for anticipating where the next passing lane will be, and then closing it off. This first-year is already making progress with the comprehension of the complexity of our defensive slide schemes: he is an astute athlete. What also can define Eli is the word disciplined – he is crushing his academic responsibilities and he is making the weight room his friend as he sharpens his game.”

WHY UVA?
“My grandparents live in Ivy, and my dad grew up in Charlottesville where he played lacrosse at Western Albemarle High School. My mom graduated from UVA, and much of my childhood was spent watching UVA football and lacrosse games and enjoying friends’ tailgates. As I grew older, I learned more about The University as an institution of learning. I am academically driven and look forward to pursuing the outstanding education I know I will receive here. I truly believe UVA has the strongest lacrosse program in the nation. After a challenging start to my high school career due to COVID restrictions, Coach Tiffany and Coach Turner demonstrated their interest and belief in me. From the beginning of the recruiting process, there was no doubt in my mind that UVA was the right place for me.”
