Treat Huey

Treat Huey joined Andres Pedroso’s coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach in March of 2022, working with the team through the ACC Championship, and finished his playing career that summer after Wimbledon and the Citi Open. Huey returned as a volunteer assistant in 2023, helping to lead the team to its second-straight NCAA Championship. He was named a full-time assistant on July 1, 2023.
Huey is one of the Cavaliers’ most successful professional players. Huey won eight career ATP doubles titles, including three 500-level tournaments, and made the 2013 1000-level ATP Masters Indian Wells final. Ranked as high as No. 18 in the world, he appeared in 28 Grand Slams, making the quarterfinals of the US Open and the semifinals at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Huey had is best year in 2016, where he and Max Mirnyi finished top 8 in the world and made the year end ATP Finals in London.
Huey participated in the IPTL as coach and player for the Philippine Mavericks with Andy Murray, Serena Williams, Jo-Wilfred Tsonga and Richard Gasquet.
Huey was a two-time All-American, a four-time All-ACC honoree and the 2008 ACC Championship MVP. He helped lead the Cavaliers to their first ITA National Team Indoor Championship in 2008. He was ranked as high as No. 1 in ITA doubles rankings and No. 5 in the ITA singles rankings.
Huey graduated from Virginia in 2008. He lives in Charlottesville with his wife, Charlotte, and their two children, Lily and Felix.
