Carley Wilson joined the Virginia Athletics Academic Affairs department in 2017 as a learning specialist and tutor coordinator.Prior to arriving at Virginia, she worked as a graduate assistant in Virginia Tech’s Student Success Center. She was an assistant learning specialist and a student-athlete academic mentor. She also helped coordinate academic recovery programs and supervise the department’s academic coaching program, while also serving as an academic coach. She assisted with advancement of co-curricular programs in residential communities.

Wilson was also involved in coordinating and organizing the school’s Uplifting Black Men Conference in 2016 and 2017. She assisted with programming for VT BMEN (Black Male Excellence Network)—Virginia Tech’s initiative to increase the GPA’s and retention rates of black male students through programming and course development.

Wilson earned her undergraduate degree in English Literature from Virginia Tech in 2015. She completed her master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from Virginia Tech in 2017.
