Katherine Goetz joined the Virginia athletics department as an assistant director of event management in May of 2019. She previously worked for four years at Ohio State as an assistant director of event management.

Goetz graduated from Ohio State with a degree in sports industry in 2015. She completed her master’s degree in sports administration in 2019. She was the primary event manager for nine sports programs while also assisting with game day operations for the Buckeyes’ football program.

In addition, she worked event management for several special events held at Ohio State, supervised the program’s internship program, assisted in the management of summer camps and assisted with budget management. She began her career at Ohio State as an event management coordinator and served as an intern with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

Goetz has worked numerous high school, Big Ten Conference and NCAA Championship events in addition to the PGATour’s Memorial Tournament and NHL All-Star game. She is a member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association.
