Kristin Thurman

Kristin Watkins joined the UVa media relations staff as an assistant director in August of 2015. She works with the Cavaliers’ volleyball, women’s basketball and women’s lacrosse programs.Prior to joining the UVa athletics staff, she spent two years working at UAB, serving as the primary contact for the women’s basketball, volleyball, sand volleyball, men’s golf and bowling programs as well as working with the Blazers’ football team. Prior to her time in Birmingham, Watkins spent one year as an intern at the communications department at Florida, serving as the primary contact for the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs.

Following her graduation at Clemson, Watkins served as a graduate assistant in the Tigers’ sports information office for one year, working for the men’s and women’s swimming and diving and men’s and women’s rowing teams.

Watkins received her bachelor’s of science degree with a concentration in sport management from Clemson and earned her master’s of science degree with a concentration in sport management from Florida.
