Stacy Rider
Stacy Rider joined the Virginia athletics department in the fall of 2023 and works with the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams programs. She is responsible for the overall daily health care of UVA student-athletes including prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for injuries and illnesses.
Prior to Virginia, Rider spent time at James Madison University as an Athletic Trainer for club sports. She was responsible for the treatment of injuries and illnesses for the ROTC program, rugby teams, lacrosse teams, competition dance team, and other club teams at the university.
Rider received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Messiah College in 2011. She completed a one-year internship at Catawba College before completing her Master’s degree in Kinesiology from James Madison University in 2014. While at James Madison University, Rider was the Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the competition cheerleading team.
Rider is also a Virginia-state registered EMT and has served as a volunteer member of the Harrisonburg Rescue Squad since January 2020.
