CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) – Monick Foote scored 20 points and reserve Lesley Brown added 17, including six during a key run that helped No. 17 Virginia beat Virginia Commonwealth 99-57 Tuesday night.

With the score tied at 17 early in the first half, Brown’s jumper started a 12-0 run that gave the Cavaliers (2-1) a 29-17 lead.

VCU (0-3) trailed 51-37 at halftime and quickly fell further behind in the second half. Brown’s jumper gave Virginia an 82-51 lead with 7:51 left.

Erin Stovall added 13 points for the Cavaliers, while DeMya Walker and Lisa Hosac scored 11 apiece.

ShaVohn McKinnon led the Lady Rams with 13 points, Alyssa McKenna had 12 andMona Karlsson 10.

The Cavaliers had a 53-37 rebounding advantage, including 27 offensiveboards, and forced 34 turnovers.
