CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) – Nikki Teasley scored 24 points, including thegame-winning jumper with 1:09 left in overtime, to lift No. 14 North Carolinaover No. 18 Virginia 82-80 Sunday.

LaQuanda Barksdale added 21 points for the Tar Heels (24-5, 11-4 AtlanticCoast Conference), who trailed by as many as 12 in the second half.

Lesley Brown scored 22 and DeMya Walker added 18 for the Cavaliers (17-7,10-4).

The Tar Heels trailed by nine at halftime and were behind into the finalthree minutes of regulation.

Teasley made a driving shot in the lane with 2:28 left in the game to tiethe score at 67. Walker converted a three-point play with 2:08 left to putVirginia up 70-67.

Jackie Higgins scored inside with 1:32 left and Teasley split two freethrows with 57.2 seconds left, sending the game into overtime.

Teasley scored two baskets in overtime before her short jumper gave NorthCarolina its first lead since the game’s opening minute. Jessica Gaspar splittwo free throws with 14.7 seconds left to give North Carolina an 82-80 lead.

Svetlana Volnaya missed a 3-pointer and Walker rebounded but missed a followshot as time expired.
