The Cavaliers scored a pair of goals 1:50 apart to come from behind and beat Yale 2-1 today in Durham. Mason White (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) scored her first career goal with 7:26 to play to tie the game and then Jessica Coleman (Oceanport, N.J./Shore Regional) flicked the ball in off a corner to notch the game winner 1:50 later. With the win, the Cavaliers improve to 12-6 overall.

After a scoreless first half which saw the Cavaliers outshoot the Elis 5-2, Yale got on the board first as Caroline Anthony collected a loose ball along the sideline and raced downfield and scored just 8:21 into the second half. Yale had a corner to go up 2-0, but post Julia Richardson (Atlanta, Ga./Stone Ridge) made a defensive stop to keep the Cavaliers within one.

Virginia answered 19 minutes later as the Hoos forced a corner, and on the scramble on the play, Katie Slocum (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) slotted the ball to White who stuck it in the boards to tie the game. Virginia took the lead for good when Coleman flicked the ball after stickstop by Carrie Goodloe (St. Louis, Mo./John Burroughs) with 5:36 to play. The Cavaliers had a corner as time expired but were unable to convert.

Virginia ends the regular season at 12-6 and will face Duke in the first round of the ACC Championships on Thursday. Game time against the Blue Devils is 4:00 on November 2, in College Park Maryland.
