CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia baseball player Brandon Creswell (Newport News, Va./Menchville) was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week after his role in leading UVa to a 3-1 victory over the #3 ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on March 30th.

Creswell, a fourth-year left handed pitcher, turned in a stellar performance in the Cavaliers win over the Yellow Jackets. He pitched a compete game (9.0 innings) and tied his career-high with 11 strikeouts while allowing only one run (unearned) in Virginia’s victory.

For the season, Creswell stands 4-2 overall as a pitcher and has an ERA of 3.40. He has started all seven games he has appeared in and has recorded a team-high 50.1 innings pitched, 43 strikeouts and two complete games. Creswell is holding opposing batters to a .286 batting average.

Florida State’s John-Ford Griffin was named the ACC Player of the Week.
