Virginia Women Rowers To Compete In George Washington Invitational Crew Classic

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team is scheduled to compete in the George Washington Invitational Crew Classic on the Potomac River race course on Saturday (April 14). The event is the official regatta of the National Cherry Blossom Festival and is the largest collegiate rowing competition in the Washington metropolitan area.
Preliminary heats begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday followed by the finals scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. The 2000-meter, four-lane buoyed course begins near the Spout Run area of the Potomac River with the finish line at Washington Harbour in Georgetown. An awards ceremony will follow the competition at approximately 4:30 p.m. at Washington Harbour.
