Charlottesville, Va.-The IWLCA Poll Committee has released theseventh week’s rankings for the NCAA Division I lacrosse field for 2001.

The top 20 schools all remained the same this week, and the Tribeof William and Mary reached their highest ranking this season. moving up to#8.

The seventh weekly IWLCA Poll for the 2001 season is as follows(with current records, poll points,first place votes, and last week’sranking).

The Colonial Athletic Association tournament takes place thisweekend in Richmond, and the ACC Tournament is also this weekend inOrlando. Top-ranked Maryland faces #9 Virginia on Friday while #4 Duke and#6 North Carolina draw on Semifinal Friday as well. In Richmond, #14 OldDominion and #15 George Mason draw on Friday with the winner facing #2Loyola on Saturday. #8 William and Mary and #13 James Madison square off onSaturday in the other semifinal.

In other action this week, the #9 Cavaliers travel to the #17Patriots on Tuesday. A big New York matchup takes place on Wednesday as #15Syracuse and #11 Cornell tangle. On Friday #5 Georgetown and #12 Penn Statemeet, and on Saturday the #15 Orangewomen and the #19 Terriers draw whilethe Ivy League title is on the line when #3 Princeton and #10 Dartmouthmeet. Another key Ivy League matchup takes place as #7 Yale hosts #11Cornell.
