The Virginia Cavaliers (24-29, 9-15 ACC) will face the Clemson Tigers (37-18, 17-7 ACC) in the 2001 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Tournament. Virginia, the #7 seed, will meet Clemson, the #2 seed, on Wednesday, May 16th at 5:00 p.m. The contest will be played at the Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, S.C.

UVa went 0-3 against Clemson this season. The Tigers are coming off a three-game sweep over the Cavaliers prior to the ACC Tournament after sweeping Virginia by the scores of 8-1, 17-1 and 5-4 on May 12th-13th in Clemson, S.C. The Cavaliers went 2-2 in the 2000 ACC Tournament, with both loses coming to the Tigers.

UVa will meet the winner/loser of the #3 Wake Forest vs. #6 North Carolina game. If Virginia wins its contest with Clemson, the Cavaliers will play on Thursday, May 17th at 8:30 p.m. If the UVa loses, it will play on Thursday, May 17th at 1:30 p.m. The ACC Tournament in a double-elimination event.
