The game went scoreless through two regulation periods and three overtime periods. UVa outshot the Seminoles 9-1 in the first period, 10-3 in the second and 14-1 in the combined overtime periods. Lori Lindsey led the team with nine shots, followed by Lindsay Gusick with 6, Meredith Rhodes with 4 and Alyssa Benitez who had 3. Jodi Clugston made two saves, while the Cavalier offense wore down Ali Mims, who played ninety minutes before being relieved by Kerry York.
