GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia has been seeded fourth and will play No. 5 seed Georgia Tech in the quarterfinal round of the 2002 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament, ACC officials announced late Monday evening.

The youthful Cavaliers (16-11, 9-7), under the guidance of 25th-year head coach Debbie Ryan, finished regular-season play tied for third with Clemson. Virginia plays Georgia Tech (15-12) on Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m. Comcast SportsNet, Fox Sports Net South, and the Sunshine Network will televise the game live. The winner advances to Sunday’s 1 p.m. semifinal game. Fox Sports Net will carry both semifinals live nationally. The championship is slated for Monday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. live on Fox Sports Net. All games will be played at the Greensboro Coliseum.

Tickets for the 2002 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament are available through the Virginia Ticket Office at 1-800-542-UVA1 (542-8821) or locally 434-924-UVA1. The All-Session pass is $49 for adults, and $40 for youths (under 18) and senior citizens.

Sunday, March 3- SEMIFINALS: Game 6: Winners of Games 2 & 3 (FSN) 1 p.m. Game 7: Winners of Games 4 & 5 (FSN) 3:30 p.m.

Monday, March 4- CHAMPIONSHIP: Game 8: Winners of Games 6 & 7 (FSN) 7:30 p.m.
