Virginia Rowers Host Duke University on Saturday

The University of Virginia women’s rowing team returns to action on Saturday (March 23) when the Cavaliers host Atlantic Coast Conference rival Duke University at the Rivanna Reservoir. Saturday’s regatta is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.

The UVa women’s rowing team opened its 2002 spring schedule last Saturday (March 16) by defeating San Diego State University in two races at the Rivanna Reservoir.

UVa’s first varsity eight finished with a time of 6:49.54 to defeat Virginia’s second varsity eight (6:52.94) and San Diego State’s varsity eight (7:24.27).

In the other race, the Cavaliers’ third varsity eight finished with a time of 7:03.96 to defeat UVa’s first novice eight (7:07.09) and San Diego State’s novice eight (7:34.26).
