SECURITY PROCEDURES

The following security procedures instituted at University of Virginia home football games last fall will continue during the 2002 season.

**Ticket holders will not be allowed to leave the stadium and return during the game.

-Backpacks, bags, carryalls and totes will not be allowed inside the stadium. People should expect that containers holding essential medicines will be examined.

-Alcohol, food, umbrellas, containers, coolers, and video cameras continue to be prohibited.

-Banners, flags, and signs attached to sticks or poles also continue to be prohibited.

-The Federal Aviation Administration will restrict air space over the stadium.

These measures may cause some delays at the gates, so ticket holders are encouraged to arrive early at the Carl Smith Center, home of Scott Stadium. The gates for Virginia home football games open two hours before kickoff.

PARKING INFORMATION

Downtown Parking Garages (located on Water & Market Streets) -$18 season pass – Contact: 434-982-5555 -$3 on game day -$2 round-trip shuttle to the stadium from any City bus stop

UVA Health Systems Garage (located on 15th & Monroe Streets) -$42 season pass – Contact: 434-982-5555 -$10 on game day -10-15 minute walk to the stadium

Additional Options (free on a first come, first served basis) -1500+ spaces at University Hall -800+ spaces at Fontaine Research Park -Other UVA lots throughout North Grounds, -Walking paths are provided from each of these locations, but no shuttle.

Disability Parking -UVA lot, located near The Park, has been identified as free disability parking with DMV handicap placard. -Free shuttle service is offered from that location for those with disabilities and one companion.

Reserved Parking -Parking adjacent to the stadium is available to qualified Virginia Student Aid Foundation members.

TICKET INFORMATION

Retain your ticket stub after you pass through the gate. Ticket stubs will be necessary to locate and verify your seat inside the stadium. Guest Relations Personnel are located throughout the stadium to assist you.

Ticket sales, based on availability, occur at the East and West ticket booths. Student guest ticket sales occur at the East ticket booth only.

Stadium gates will open two hours prior to kickoff.

Re-entry to Scott Stadium is prohibited.

All seats are reserved except for student seating and the hillside.

Wheelchair accessible seating is located on the South end of the stadium.

General will call is located at the East Gate. Media will call is located at the West Gate. Please have identification.

The Virginia Athletic Department reserves the unrestricted right to refuse or terminate admission.. It further reserves the right to eject any intoxicated person or persons whose conduct is deemed to be inappropriate. Patrons must present a valid ticket for entry. Admission is subject to inspection and search for prohibited items. These items include but are not limited to:

-food -beverages -video cameras-containers -coolers -audio recorders-umbrellas -weapons -signs on sticks/poles

FIRST AID

Emergency medical treatment is available on both sides of the stadium and on the South end. Contact the nearest usher or police officer to seek medical attention. The first aid stations on the 3rd and 5th levels on the South end have breast feeding areas equipped with television for viewing the game.

CONCESSIONS

Permanent food and drink concessions are located throughout the concourses of the lower and upper levels of the stadium. No food or beverages will be allowed through the gates.

RESTROOMS

Restroom facilities are located throughout the stadium. Portable restrooms are available in various locations surrounding the stadium.

ALCOHOL

Alcoholic beverages or containers of any kind are NOT permitted inside the stadium. Persons identified with alcohol will be asked to leave the premises.

SMOKING

Smoking is NOT permitted in the seating areas, portals, restrooms, or hillside.

CAMERAS

Cameras are allowed, however flash photography is prohibited. Video cameras and audio recorders are prohibited.

LOST AND FOUND

During the game, the Lost and Found station is located at the East and West Gates. Articles not claimed after the game will be taken to the Stadium Operations Office, room 112 in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium.

UMBRELLAS

NO umbrellas are permited in the stadium. Umbrella check-in locations can be found at the East and West ticket booth.

Umbrellas checked in must be claimed at the game’s conclusion. If not, they will be taken to the Stadium Operations Office, room 112 in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium.

BANNERS

Banners and signs are permitted at the discretion of the Game Management Staff, providing they are in good taste, do not contain profanity, and do not block the view of any patrons. Banners and signs on sticks or poles are prohibited.
