GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia’s Matt Schaub has been selected as an Atlantic Coast Conference football Player of the Week, ACC officials announced on Monday.

The junior quarterback from West Chester, Pa., went 22 of 27 (81.5), passed for 312 yards and three touchdowns in the Cavaliers’ come-from-behind 38-34 win at Wake Forest. He also rushed twice for six yards. The 6-5, 235-pound junior has completed 88 of 123 passes on the year with 15 touchdowns and ranks third nationally in passing efficiency.

The ACC honor is the first of Schaub’s career.

Riding a three-game winning streak, Virginia (3-2, 1-1 ACC) travels to Duke (2-3, 0-1 ACC) on Saturday, Oct. 5. Kickoff is set for Noon. The contest will be televised by the ACC/Jefferson Pilot Sports Network.
