CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia head wrestling coach Lenny Bernstein has announced two changes to the 2002-03 UVa wrestling schedule. The Cavaliers are now scheduled to compete in the First Annual “Beast of the East” Collegiate Invitational on December 20, 2002 in Newark, Delaware at the Bob Carpenter Center on the campus of the University of Delaware. Virginia is no longer scheduled to compete in the 2002 Sunshine Open. The Cavaliers were originally scheduled to compete in the event on December 28-29 in Palm Beach, Florida.

Virginia is one of 16 schools or programs scheduled to compete in the First Annual “Beast of the East” Collegiate Invitational. Other teams joining UVa in the tournament field are: Virginia Tech, Duke, Ohio, Buffalo, Princeton, Rider, Bloomsburg, The Citadel, Drexel, Old Dominion, George Mason, Binghamton, Wagner, Delaware State and the UD club program.

9:00 – 9:30 Pigtail Round (if necessary)

9:30 – Championship Round I – (6 mats)

11:30 – Consolation pig-tails ( 6 mats)

11:45 – Championship Quarter-finals (6 mats)

12:45 – Consolation Round I (6 mats)

1:45 – Consolation Round II (4 mats)1:45 – Championship Semi-finals (2 mats)

3:15 – Consolation Quarter-finals (6 mats)

3:45 – Consolation Semi-finals (6 mats)

4:30 – Consolation Finals (1 mat)4:30 – Championship Finals (1 mat)

6:00 – Awards Ceremony
