Cavaliers Upset No. 25 Michigan, 78-64

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Brandi Teamer scored a game-high 20 points asVirginia upset No. 25 Michigan 78-64 Saturday in the State Farm Classic.
Teamer shot 9-of-11 from the field and had five rebounds to lead Virginia,which shot 57 percent from the field. LaTonya Blue scored 12 points and AnnaPrillaman added 11 for the Cavaliers (5-4).
Tabitha Pool scored 18 points to lead the Wolverines, who shot 43 percentfrom the field. Niki Reams added 14 points for Michigan (8-2). Virginiaoutscored Michigan 52-32 in the paint.
A 3-point jumper by Prillaman started an 11-2 run to give Virginia a 32-24lead with three minutes remaining in the first half. Virginia led 36-30 athalftime as Michigan shot 37 percent from the field in the half.
Virginia opened a 48-38 lead with less than 16 minutes remaining in thesecond half and then held Michigan scoreless for nearly five minutes to take a56-40 lead with 12:40 remaining.
A 3-pointer by Stephanie Gandy sparked 10 unanswered points by Michigan,cutting the lead to 56-50 with 9:12 remaining. But Virginia rebuilt itsadvantage, leading by as many as 18 points before closing out the victory.
