ATHENS, Ga. – Fourth-year University of Virginia women’s diver Alison Sharp (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock) finished 16th in the three-meter diving competition at the Georgia Diving Invitational Friday (January 3) at Gabrielsen Natatorium. Third-year Katie Prior (Dallas, Texas/Logos Academy) also competed in the three-meter competition, while third-year Pete Amstutz (St. Joseph, Mich./St. Joseph) and first-years Andrew Barber (Vienna, Va./Marshall) and Eric Kelley (Rockford, Ill./Rockford Christian School) took part in the men’s one-meter competition.

Sharp was 16th in the women’s three-meter diving preliminaries with a score of 433.25 points, which qualified her for the NCAA Zone B Diving Regionals in March. Sharp did not advance to the finals. Prior was 38th on the three-meter board with 170.80 points.

In the men’s one-meter competition, Amstutz was Virginia’s top finisher with 223.55 points, good for 22nd place. Barber placed 30th with 203.15 points, while Kelley was 31st with 200.55 points.

The Georgia Diving Invitational continues Saturday (January 4) at 11:00 a.m. with the women’s one-meter and the men’s three-meter competitions.
