Virginia's Barber Finishes 17th On Three-Meter Board At Georgia Diving Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. – First-year University of Virginia men’s diver Andrew Barber (Vienna, Va./Marshall) finished 17th in the three-meter diving competition at the Georgia Diving Invitational Saturday (January 4) at Gabrielsen Natatorium. Third-year Pete Amstutz (St. Joseph, Mich./St. Joseph) and first-year Eric Kelley (Rockford, Ill./Rockford Christian School) were 19th and 29th, respectively, in the men’s three-meter competition.
Barber took 17th in the three-meter diving competition with a total of 410.75 points. Amstutz grabbed 19th place with 399.85 points. Kelley rounded out UVa’s competitors on the three-meter board in 29th place with 182.10 points.
The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads, ranked ninth and 12th in their respective CSCAA Top 25 Polls, return to action on Saturday, January 11 when they travel to Raleigh, N.C. for a 1:00 p.m. meet against N.C. State.
