CHARLOTTESVILLE – A University of Virginia crew won the novice eight race, and UVa crews finished second in the varsity eight and varsity four races to highlight the performance of the Virginia women’s rowing team at the Rivanna Romp on Sunday (Nov. 10). The regatta was held at the Rivanna Reservoir.

Virginia’s “A” crew won the novice eight race with a time of 15:09.9 followed by Clemson “A” (15:33.1), North Carolina “A” (15:34.4) and Virginia “B” (16:02.2). Clemson’s “B” crew finished fifth in 16:16.4 followed by North Carolina “B” (16:18.2), Clemson “C” (16:29.7), Ohio State “A” (16:35.4), Virginia “C” (16:41.3), William & Mary “A” (16:47.1), Ohio State “B” (17:07.2), Virginia “D” (17:24.0) and William & Mary “B” (18:17.1).

Ohio State’s “A” crew won the varsity eight competition with a time of 13:39.4 followed by Virginia “A” (13:40.5), Clemson “A” (13:51.2) and Virginia “B” (13:54.8). Ohio State’s “C” crew finished fifth in 14:14.2 followed by Virginia “C” (14:29.3), Ohio State “B” (14:31.8), Clemson “B” (14:43.4) and William & Mary (16:26.1).

Ohio State’s “B” crew won the varsity four race with a time of 15:08.9 followed by Virginia “A” (15:12.5), Ohio State “A” (15:15.2) and Virginia “B” (15:39.8). Virginia’s “C” crew finished fifth in a time of 15:43.4 followed by Clemson “A” (15:43.6), Clemson “B” (16:05.5), Clemson “D” (16:07.4), Clemson “C” (16:07.7), Virginia “D” (16:20.2) and Ohio State “C” (17:15.1).

It was the final competition of the fall season for the Virginia women’s rowing team.
