GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia sophomore Brandi Teamer (Joliet, Ill.) earned her first Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honor, ACC officials announced on Monday.

In last Monday’s win over Clemson, Teamer added 17 points and five rebounds. Against Wake Forest on Thursday, the forward netted a game-high 23 points, including two treys (2-2), and eight rebounds.

After 21 games, Teamer stands second in scoring with 14.2 ppg and leads UVa with 7.5 rpg. In ACC games, she averages a team-best 16.1 ppg and 8.4 rpg. A preseason Naismith candidate and All-ACC honoree, Teamer is also a nominee for the 2003 Kodak All-America Team.

The Player of the Week honor is Teamer’s first. She earned ACC Rookie of the Week accolades six times last season.

Virginia (10-12, 4-7 ACC) hosts NC State on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in University Hall.
