Virginia’s Scott Kimball turned in the fastest time of the year as he took runner-up honors in the 100m dash at the Georgia Tech Invitational, held in Atlanta. His time of 10.41 just missed first place by .04 seconds. Eliese Mitchell scored in two events for Virginia, taking fifth in the discus (52.65m) and seventh in the hammer (53.76m).

Carielle Doe also scored for the Cavaliers, taking eighth in the 400m dash in a time of 53.85.

On the men’s side, McGavock Dunbar turned in the sixth-fastest time in the 800-meter run with a 1:50.79.
