GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia women’s basketball player Brandi Teamer (Joliet, Ill.) has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday.

In Sunday’s 72-71 win over Temple in the opening round of the Cavalier Classic, Teamer came off the bench for a season-high 21 points, 17 of which came in the second half. She also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and season-high four steals. In Monday’s championship game against No. 7/6 Minnesota, Teamer scored 11 points and earned All-Tournament Team honors.

After 10 contests, Teamer is the Virginia leader with 11.7 ppg and 6.0 rpg.

The ACC weekly honor is Teamer’s first this season and eighth of her career.

Virginia tips off the ACC season on Friday, Jan. 2 with Clemson at 7:30 p.m. in University Hall.
