Virginia's Matt Oliver Named To SoccerTimes.com 2003 Men's Division I College All-American Team

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia men’s soccer player Matt Oliver (Waldorf, Md./DeMatha Catholic) was named to the SoccerTimes.com 2003 Men’s Division I College All-American Team as a Third Team selection. Oliver, a redshirt fourth-year defender, was the lone UVa player to be selected to the team.
Aside from being recognized by SoccerTimes.com, Oliver was also named a 2003 College Soccer News Third Team All-American, selected to the 2003 NSCAA/adidas All-South Atlantic Region Team as a Second Team choice, named a 2003 First Team All-ACC pick, selected to the 2003 ACC All-Tournament Team was was twice named to Soccer America’s Team of the Week (Week 3 and Week 12). Oliver was also named to the 2003 Virginia Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team and to the 2003 Maryland Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team last season.
Oliver started all 18 games he appeared in for Virginia during the 2003 season. He scored four points resulting from two goals and helped the UVa defense post seven shutouts as the Cavaliers won the 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference title and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Tournament. Virginia finished the season 11-10-2 overall, 3-3-0 in the ACC.
