Women's Golf Stands 14th at Lady Gator Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Virginia women’s golf team stands 14th after the second round of action at the Lady Gator Invitational on Monday.
ACC rival Duke continues to lead the field of 15 with a 588 (+28) after firing the best round of the day with a 296. Ohio State stands second with a 608 (+48), while Michigan State is third with a 616 (+56). The Cavaliers shot a 321 on the day for a 643 (+83) total.
Individually, Duke’s Anna Grzebien and Brittany Land are tied for first with a 145 (+5). Michigan State’s Allison Fouch, Ohio State’s Allison Hanna, and Duke’s Elizabeth Janangelo are tied for third with a 147 (+7).
Freshmen Rachel Smith (Powell, Tenn.) and Leah Wigger (Louisville, Ky.) pace the Cavaliers with a 159 (+19) each to tie for 42nd. Freshman Sally Shonk (Nobelsville, Ind.) shot a 161 (+21). Freshman Lindsay Robinson (Huntington, W.V.) shot a 167 (+27), while freshman Ashley Mayo (Aventura, Fla.) rounded out the UVa scoring with a 170 (+30).
Play at the Lady Gator Invitational concludes on Tuesday, March 9. Tee times begin at 8 a.m. at the par-70 University Golf Course.
