CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team will have crews competing in two regattas this weekend (March 27-28).

Virginia’s first varsity eight and second varsity eight crews will compete in the Windermere Collegiate Crew Classic on Saturday (March 27) and Sunday (March 28) in Redwood City, Calif. UVa will compete against Stanford University, Washington State University and the University of California-Berkeley in the regatta.

The Cavaliers’ first varsity eight crew is ranked seventh in the nation in the US Rowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches preseason poll. Stanford is ranked sixth in the poll, California-Berkeley 11th and Washington State 15th.

Virginia’s varsity four and novice eight crews will compete against the University of Louisville and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., on Saturday (March 27).

In two regattas this spring, Virginia has won every race in competition with Duke University and Columbia University.
