CHARLOTTESVILLE – Hunter Yurachek has been named Associate Athletics Director for Marketing and Promotions at the University of Virginia. Yurachek comes to Virginia from Western Carolina University where he was a Senior Associate Athletics Director.
“I am extremely excited about this tremendous opportunity to join the team at the University of Virginia,” Yurachek said. “I have always admired the integrity and values the University of Virginia has thrived on and to become a part of that tradition is a great honor. I look forward to building a program of uncompromised excellence in the marketing and promotions area.”
Prior to joining the athletics department staff at Western Carolina, Yurachek gained experience in the athletics marketing offices at Vanderbilt University and Wake Forest University. He received his undergraduate degree from Guilford College and earned a master’s degree in sports administration from the University of Richmond.
“We have established very aggressive ten-year goals in athletics and every sport, coach, student-athlete, administrator and staff member plays a critical role in our efforts to achieve these goals,” said UVa Director of Athletics Craig Littlepage. “Hunter brings the right set of values that will allow us to successfully pursue these goals as we build a program of uncompromised excellence.”
Yurachek assumes his duties at Virginia on May 3. His responsibilities include oversight of the athletics department’s licensing program, and the marketing and promotions activities for UVa’s 25 intercollegiate sports.
