CHARLOTTESVILLE – The University of Virginia women’s rowing team hosts the Rivanna Romp on Sunday (Nov. 14). The regatta, held at the Rivanna Reservoir, is the team’s final competition of the fall season.

Cincinnati, Duke, North Carolina, Ohio State and Tennessee are among the schools participating in the head race. The varsity eight event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Nineteen boats will compete. The novice eight races start at 11:15 a.m. and will consist of 14 crews. Fifteen fours, four quads, 10 doubles and 17 pairs boats will begin competing at 12:30 p.m.

The Virginia men’s club rowing team will compete against Cincinnati and North Carolina in the men’s component of the Rivanna Romp.

The Virginia women’s varsity team enters the Rivanna Romp after placing third in both the women’s open eight and the women’s open four races at the Princeton Chase on November 7. The Cavalier novice crews placed first, third, and seventh in a home scrimmage against the Georgetown novices on November 6.
