CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s basketball team returns home to University Hall to host Old Dominion on Friday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m.

The Cavaliers, under the guidance of head coach Debbie Ryan, stand 5-3 after Sunday’s 76-55 win over Northwestern to claim second place at the Mildred & Roger L. White Invitational. Senior Brandi Teamer leads the Cavaliers with 15.5 points per game while shooting 54 percent from the field. Senior LaTonya Blue follows with 10.4 ppg and 6.0 rpg., while senior Jocelyn Logan-Friend adds 9.4 ppg and a team-best 8.4 rebounds per game.

The Lady Monarchs, under the tutelage of 18th-year head coach Wendy Larry, stand 3-1 after upsetting No. 16/19 Rutgers on Sunday. Senior Shareese Grant is the leading scorer with 19.8 ppg, while sophomore Sherida Triggs follows with 11.0 ppg.

Old Dominion holds a 16-11 series edge over Virginia since the teams first met in 1973; however, UVa has won the last two meetings. In their last meeting on Nov. 22, 2002, the unranked Cavaliers claimed a 63-55 upset win over the No. 24 Lady Monarchs in the first-ever game played at ODU’s new Ted Constant Convocation Center.
