CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The nationally-ranked University of Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams wrap up the dual meet portion of their schedules by hosting Maryland and Duke on Saturday and Sunday (February 5 and 6), respectively, at the UVa Aquatic and Fitness Center. The Maryland meet on Saturday begins at 1:00 p.m., while the Duke meet begins at noon Sunday with diving commencing at 10:30 a.m. Admission to the meets is free of charge.

The meets serve as the final home dual meets for 10 Cavalier fourth-years. Seven Virginia men are competing in their final home meet. The fourth-years are: Luke Anderson (Charlottesville, Va./Bolles School), Chris Cooper (Sparta, N.J./Sparta), Scott DeMarco (Great Neck, N.Y./Great Neck South), Bo Greenwood (Manakin, Va./Goochland), Brian Harrington (Alexandria, Va./Mount Vernon), Michael Raab (Rockville, Md./Walter Johnson), and Brett Simon (San Mateo, Calif./St. Ignatius Prep).

Three UVa women are also competing in their final home dual meets. The fourth-year women are: Laura Lipskis (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East), Katie McWilliams (Stratford, Conn./Bunnell), and Kate Wrenshall (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bolles School).

The Cavalier men are ranked 10th in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Dual Meet Top 25 Poll and stand at 8-1 overall and 4-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. UVa is coming off a 128-113 loss to third-ranked Florida on January 28. Virginia enters the weekend having won 28 consecutive ACC dual meets dating back to 1999. Maryland stands at 4-6 overall and 1-5 in the ACC, while Duke is 3-7 and 0-4 in the conference.

The 12th-ranked Virginia women stand at 9-1 overall and 5-0 in the ACC. The Cavaliers fell to third-ranked Florida 131-90 in their last meet on January 28. Maryland enters Saturday’s meet as the 15th-ranked team in the nation and stands at 10-0 overall and 6-0 in the ACC. Duke is 3-7 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
