Virginia's Sean Singletary Named ACC Men's Basketball Rookie Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Virginia freshman Sean Singletary is the Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball Rookie of the Week for his play in Virginia’s victories over Florida State University and Virginia Tech at University Hall last week.

The 6-0 point guard from Philadelphia, Pa., scored 19 points, had 12 rebounds, nine assists and just one turnover in the two games.

In Virginia’s 56-55 victory over Florida State on February 9, Singletary scored nine points, had five rebounds, two assists and no turnovers in 30 minutes of playing time.

In the Cavaliers’ 65-60 win over Virginia Tech on February 12, Singletary scored 10 points, had seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals and one turnover in 40 minutes of action.

Maryland’s John Gilchrist was named the ACC men’s basketball Player of the Week.
