Sean Singletary Named to ACC All-Freshman Team

RALEIGH, N.C. – University of Virginia guard Sean Singletary is a member of the 2005 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshmen Team. The team was selected in voting by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.
The 6-0 point guard from Philadelphia, Pa., is the only Virginia player to start all 27 games during the 2004-05 regular season. He is averaging 10.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists a game, and was selected ACC Rookie of the Week five times this season.
Singletary ranks first among freshmen in the ACC in assists and steals (1.67 spg.), and is second in scoring and minutes played (29.7 mpg.). He ranks sixth among all ACC players in assist/turnover ratio (1.69), ninth in assists and tied for tenth in steals.
Singletary is also a member of the CollegeInsider.com Freshmen All-America Team and is a second-team selection to the Rivals.com Freshmen All-America Team.
Other members of the ACC All-Freshmen Team are Marvin Williams (North Carolina), Cliff Hammonds (Clemson), DeMarcus Nelson (Duke) and Deron Washington (Virginia Tech). Singletary received the second most votes behind Williams.
